Virginia Beach- Barbara J. Podkowka passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 26, 2018. Predeceased by “the Love of her Life,” husband Michael W. Podkowka, and her parents. She is survived by daughters Rebecca Cichonowicz and her husband Todd, and Rachel Taylor, grandchildren Rhiannon Taylor and Jeremy Cichonowicz, brothers Chuck, Brian and Jim McGann, four nephews and three nieces. She was a beloved teacher who made a tremendous difference in the lives of all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Barbara Podkowka Book Award/Scholarship in care of Virginia Beach Friends School. Services will be officiated by Reverend Cameron Randle at Eastern Shore Chapel Episcopal Church on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 10am.
