Norfolk- Gloria W. Cockrell, 91, passed away Sept 24, 2018. She was born in Clarks Summit, PA. A graduate of Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing, Scranton, PA as a registered nurse; a World War II veteran, having served in the US Cadet Nurse Corps; she was a member of Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, Zulekia Ct. Number 35; Past directress of ROJ Ive #8; Past President Scottish Rite Ladies of Norfolk; Queen of Chapter G’s R & P, Funettehaters, RHS. She was preceded in death by her husband CDR Charles W. Cockrell; and daughter Barbara Lewelling. Survivors include, son, Mark W. Cockrell; grandson David Moore; great granddaughters, Alexis & Gabrielle Moore; and sister Linda Hunt.
In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donations to the Transportation Fund, Khedive Temple, 645 Woodlake Dr. Chesapeake, VA 23320. At her request, there will be no service.
