Harriet Jane Wickizer
November 7, 1935 - March 31, 2018

Harriet Jane Wickizer, 82, passed away on March 31, 2018 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Harriet was born November 7, 1935 in Slatington, Pennsylvania on November 7, 1935 to the late Harry Owens and Marion Fritzinger Owens Seltzer. After graduating from Slatington High School she attended the University of Pennsylvania, School of Nursing, and graduated as an R.N. On August 11, 1956, she married Russell R. Wickizer. Russell joined the Air Force and during their twenty-one years of service, Russell, Harriet and their children traveled in the United states and Europe before retiring to Virginia Beach in 1976.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, Russell and their son Stephen.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Susan Davidson, husband Robert, Russell wife Gina, Roger, wife Karen, and Lorrie Bonney, husband Albert, her thirteen grandchildren; Geneva “Genny” Wickizer, Michael Wilkins, Russell Wickizer, III, Albert “Bert” Bonney, IV, Katherine “Katie” Bonney, Sarah Davidson, Stephanie Wickizer, Charles Wickizer, Lauren Wickizer, Carolina Bonney, Derrick Wickizer, Evan Bonney, Megan Wickizer, and her loving and devoted companion Robert Coffin.

A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Christian Chapel Assembly of God, 2751 Salem Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23456. Online condolences may be made at www.vacremationsociety.com

No words can express the gratitude we feel towards Robert; he loved and cared for our Mother endlessly and for that we will be forever thankful.

Our family offers a heartfelt thanks to the wonderful nursing staff that cared for our Mother during her illness, Leatha, Jerrie, Dolores, Robin, and Jenn. Thank you to the nursing and medical staff at the Sentara PACE program.
