Hoyt James Brackett

Virginia Beach- Retired US Navy Master Chief Hoyt Brackett, 92, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018. He returned to his Heavenly Father and into the arms of his beloved wife, Ruth. He was born May 25, 1926 in Spindale, NC. Hoyt retired from the US Navy as a Master Chief after 31 years of service, having served in World War II, Berlin Airlift, Korean War and the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Adeline Brackett, his parents James & Edna Brackett, his sisters Joyce Wilkins and Doris Primavera & son in law Barry Sutphin. Hoyt leaves behind to cherish his memory his four daughters Karen Sutphin of W. VA, Kathy Tedrick of GA, Kris Miller and Pam Harris of Va Beach and their husbands, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, his sister Brenda Greenway and many additional family members and friends who will miss him greatly.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for the family.
