John Michael Dorsey, Jr.
May 8, 1965 - March 6, 2020

Virginia Beach ~ With Heavy Hearts we share the passing of John Michael, Dorsey, Jr. 53yrs old. On March 6, 2020. John worked as a Longshoreman for (ILA) for the last 30yrs. John was a very generous, witty, and dedicated man to all he loved. John had a huge passion of collecting Antiques, Coin, Silver, Kiss, and Redskins paraphilia to even an elaborate knife collection. John would even give sentimental gifts he knew others would love such as Snoopy items, Roosters, and even aides to help a dedicated Hairdresser to make the job easier and much, much, more. John we truly believed was the biggest advocate for Thrift Stores and the treasures they hold. John’s love was like no other for his beloved animals that would bring a smile to him each day after work. John also had a way of showing kids his unconditional Love; which we all know led to him adopting many children which truly love and adored him. A coinsurer of the finest cuisines, John had a love of cooking a skill he took right from his mother, John was known to be an amazing cook in the Kitchen, but called Grill Master when he cooked outside. John enjoyed life to the fullest, but there was somethings he found most enjoyable and that was Fishing and the weekends with family down in Columbia, NC. For all who knew John, I sure would agree; God had truly blessed our lives with an Angel who truly earn his Wings and left a forever impressing of Love in our Hearts.

John is survived by his parents; Virginia and John M. Dorsey, Sr., his wife; Sherry Dorsey, sister; Suzanne Doxey all of VA Beach, brother; Jason (Angie) Dorsey of Texas. John leaves a Legacy of 10 Children and their spouses; Michael (Carissa) Dorsey, Stephanie (Jordan) Shaver Kelsey, Shonna (Donald), David, Michael (Kristen), Corey (Cassandra), Charddene, Anthony, and Jasmine. John was a Devoted Grandfather to; Angelina, Jayden, Aleckzander, Andrew, Lucas, Dylan, Jakob, Eli, Adian, Jayden, Ariana, Medellin. John had a huge influence over his nephews; Travis (Elliolh), Wesley (Savannah), Michael, Austin, Brayden, Joey, and Alex. John adored his nieces; Devin, Brynna, and Sayde. John with his playful Soul found joy in spending time with the youngest troopers; Great Newphes; Jedi Obi, Harley, and Asher.
