Williams, Robert (Bob) Barker Jr
Virginia Beach- Robert (Bob) Barker Williams Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on November 26, 2018, at the age of 90. He was born and raised in Russell Township, Ohio, and was the oldest of eight children. Bob was a graduate of Russell School, served in the Army during the Korean War, and later earned a bachelor’s degree from Kent State University. He retired after working for 32 years for OxyChem, formerly Diamond Shamrock and Diamond Alkali.
Bob was predeceased by his parents Robert Barker Williams Sr. and Lourita Battles Williams, brothers Thomas, Maynard, and Earl, and sister Jean Ann Dunbar. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Rosemarie (DiNezza) Williams, his four daughters–Karen Karlowicz (Gary), Pamela Barre (Lee), Melanie Williams, and Lisa Waress (John), three grandchildren–Lindsey Waress, Chandler Waress, and Adam Freed, and siblings– Elwin Williams, Carol Stentz, and Jacqueline Frank.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 1404 Pacific Ave., Virginia Beach, Virginia, on Friday, November 30, 2018, at 1 p.m. The family will receive guests at a reception following the service in the church social hall. Burial will be held at a later date at Riverview Cemetery, Russell Center, Ohio.
