William B. Jones, Jr.
CHESAPEAKE – William Bartlett (Buddy) Jones, 74, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018. Born on December 2, 1943, in Norfolk, VA, he was the son of the late William Bartlett and Elizabeth Carey Jones.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his cherished eldest daughter, Jennifer Jones Eason, and his beloved fiancée, Judy Allen Scharle.
He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Jones Dudley, and her husband, Mike, of Chesapeake; his brother, David L. Jones, and his wife, Patricia, of Chesapeake; his sisters, Dianne T. Frost of N. Chesterfield, VA, and Carol J. Gardner, and her husband, Charles, of Midlothian, VA; and his four grandchildren, Austin Eason, Sawyer Eason, Cameron Dudley, and Eliah Eason, as well numerous devoted nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Buddy was generous, caring, and friendly to all. An avid reader and talented cook, he gladly shared this skill with those he loved. His family and dear Shih Tzus, Yogi and Mickey, were of primary importance to him. Buddy also maintained a passion for the New York Yankees and the UGA Bulldogs throughout his life. He will be dearly missed.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, March 26, at 2:00 p.m. in the Church of the Epiphany, 1530 Lafayette Blvd., Norfolk, conducted by Father Richard O. Bridgford. A reception will be held at the church following the service.
